I was wondering if anyone else is baking homemade sandwich loaf on a regular basis. I am. Every single Wednesday. My wife and I have not had store bought sliced bread in almost two years. We never looked back

Maybe what I do with my bread maker might not be considered baking by some but since I got that thing I have not bought a loaf of bread from the grocery store.

If anyone says bread maker bread ain’t bread they best be baking in a wood fired mud hut with sticks.

With my trusty old bread machine, I bake the same loaf of bread 3 or 4 times a week, or even daily for some periods (family of 5). I have done so for many years. It is pretty much the only baking I do. But still somehow can’t consider it “real” baking. But who cares. The bread is baked. Bread is bread. I like my bread.

Hey @[email protected] ! We would love your post at https://lemmy.ca/c/bread aswell!

I’ve tried sandwich loaf many many times, and despite my baking experience, ive never turned out a solid product.

Sourdough? Don’t sweat it, basic white bread? Panik!
