    While not perfect, I’m glad they’ve done something. I’d be interested to see how much interest will be charged on those short term loans from the “Rent Bank”.

      I find it laughable to call it “direct financial assistance to tenants”.

      Any rent assistance without rent caps is effectively a subsidy for landlords. Saying something like “this rental benefit goes directly to the tenant, it does not go to the landlord” is asinine when obviously it will eventually go to the landlord.

    Just moved here from BC, the rent cap in Vancouver was amazing (for renters) and made at least that part of housing more humane. We need a rent cap in NB.
