Proactive NSFW due to underwear discussion.

Calvin Klein, 2 Xist and even Jockey make thongs for men. Is this a niche product/market, or an untapped goldmine?

I’ve tried a few different brands and am arguably a convert. I personally don’t wear slacks or more office oriented clothing, so the thinner fabrics aren’t a huge concern for my undies lines or lack thereof. The support is pretty solid, so that helps. Main drawback in my opinion is the stigma that remains attached and equates to either thongs being either strictly for women or gay men.

    I would say men have been wearing thongs for many years now, there’s nothing “new” about that. I have personally never worn one because they look incredibly uncomfortable. Quite frankly I’m not even sure why women wear them, but if that’s what you want to wear then go for it dude.

      I had a girlfriend who said, to her, they were way more comfortable than the ring around her thighs, and she liked that they made it so she didn’t have panty lines through her clothes.

      That’s my thought, as well. Where is the benefit? I see literally no upsides to a thong for any person.

        There are benefits, for example if you walk a lot it chafes less than underwear that is somehow attached to the legs. Also, in the summer less is nore. … but, like briefs, it can be uncomfortable. They look better tho, depending on taste of the viewer and your body.

    I say wear what you like when it comes to underwear. If you want to wear full long Johns under your pants then don’t let anyone stop you, and the same goes for thongs, tighty whities, boxers, and everything in between. In th ink what major brands are realizing is there is an untapped market for additional styles and men are comfortable enough to at least try them. Companies like cocksox have made actual men’s thongs for years, amongst many other styles (actual meaning designed for all day wear, not just a night in with a significant other). That is to say it was possible to find them for a bit if you looked, it’s just more recently that you don’t really have to look to find them in places which I think means they are more than just a fad.

    I like Jockey’s elance bikini briefs. They cover everything and are pretty lightweight for summer. On a motorcycle trip they take up basically no space.

    I imagine a thong would have me sweating directly into the seat of my pants, which sounds horrible.

    I think Calvin Klein’s thongs are very comfortable and stylish without veering into the usually flagged for gay Andrew Christian or Nasty Pig branding. Your milage may vary, I’m saying this as a bisexual man, but I get a lot of compliments from women on them too.

    For the exclusively straight men out there, lemme tell you that if you got a good butt, flaunt it. Modern quality underwear does a great job of supporting and showing off the package and a lotta ladies love butts. I wouldn’t wear a thong with my work denims, that can be a lil rough on the cheeks, but fashion jeans with any amount of stretching material or a softer fabric mixed in, or slacks, etc. will be quite comfortable, just make sure you get the right size as a small one will bite into your groin and hips.
