The Karen State BGF said it had told all foreigners working in scam centers to leave or face punitive action. It has itself been linked to crime hubs in the area.
This is interesting because Karen Border Guard are supposedly the ones who have protected and benefited from the Chinese-run scam centers in Myawaddy.
They were initially “neutral” in the conflict, then sided with the Junta resulting in Karen rebels relinquishing the control of Myawaddy. Now they are doing the work that China has ordered Junta to do but wouldn’t until operation1027 started - eradicate scam centers.
