    What need is to push for high speed rail.

    While nice, the majority of car use is for very short trips, so a high-speed train wouldn’t do anything to solve inner city traffic and congestion issues.

    In addition to high-speed trails, which are great for city to city connections, the real push needs to be in micromobility, cycling/e-scooter/e-bike infrastructure, and other forms of transportation.

    If places can offer alternatives to cars for the 90% of what people are using cars for, everything will change for the better.
