I am a brand new member of the fediverse and this is my first interaction, and I feel at home. When Reddit announced the api changes I stopped using the site entirely, and since then the thing I have missed the most is that reddit sense of humor, so this made me smile.

Lemmy is home turf for FOSS fanatics. Just don’t let them ruin your day.
What makes someone a “FOSShole”? As far as I know the community understands and sympathizes when you can’t replace some things with open-source software for various reasons. Besides, Lemmy is one, and Reddit was.
FOSS fanatics. I have no beef with FOSS enthusiasts and enjoyers, but not everyone in the community is as accepting or tolerating of other people’s software choices, and a lot of these folks are on Lemmy having a good time trashing everyone else and pushing their doctrine.
