    Typical of this city.

Ski jumps are gone. Community pools are shutting down (After Inglewood, Renfrew). The luge/bobsled track is dead. We’re currently bulldozing one of the most interesting markets in the city (Eau Claire) for a train station that may never be built. Council is falling over itself to encourage Loblaws to force small businesses to shutter. Oh, but we’re fighting like crazy to make sure we build (and pay for) a new hockey arena, which we’ll have almost broken even on in 35 years, when it’s time to replace it again.

There is no committment to making Calgary vibrant and unique. We want our generic plucky sports team, our endless strung of box stores, and a ban on cars; and that’s it.
