In short:

Reports suggest the ICC will create a two-tiered Test cricket format, with the larger nations playing each other more regularly.

West Indies legends including Clive Lloyd have slammed the plan, but Michael Vaughan and Ravi Shastri say it is a good idea.

What’s next?

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Indian chairman Jay Shah will meet representatives of the Australian and English boards this month to discuss the plans, according to a report.

I would be for it IF AND ONLY IF it meant more associate teams like USA & Canada could qualify for test status in the lower division. The way it is now Ireland Zimbabwe Afghanistan already hardly ever get to play tests.

Afghanistan shouldn’t be playing tests. They should have been stripped of full member status the moment the Taliban disbanded the women’s team, as ICC rules state.
