If California was 65 Dem, 5 third party, GOP 30, it’s still a signal against GOP compared to 70 30 split. It is more of a signal for Dems to not keep ratcheting to the right.

I agree to not vote 3rd party in PA or MI.

The signal for Dems to not ratchet to the right is a complete shutout of the further right party. They are not going to move left if Republicanism is so widespread that it is still electorally viable. They are trying to get a wide variety of people to actually show up to the polls, and they will err in favor of the older, more conservative generations because of statistics.

Im not so sure. Their strategy now lays in winning with a minority using voter suppression, gerrymandering, bullying, and court decisions. 30 might be to low for all that to work but 35 just might do it and they just need to sway that 5%. Given how I have seen maga who where previously and oddly extreme left I can see that giving republicans hope.

California is a safe D for president. Electoral college system means that all that matters is how individual states vote independently. Most states give all of their electoral college “points” to the winner of the state. California is one of those states. It is the Red states with republican governors and congresses that gerrymander, voter purge, and voter suppress their “blue Urban” areas into having 4 hour voting wait lines.
