I get all the doom and gloom but I’m pretty sure the most likely reason is lack of sunlight while the eyes are developing in childhood, which makes sense given the increase in cases post-covid and in urban areas.
So not due to blood plastics or toxic trash, and only indirectly due to screens. It’s almost certainly just kids playing inside.
