Radical left party La France Insoumise argues that it is not up to the president 'to do political horsetrading,' taking aim at Emmanuel Macron's efforts since July to find a prime minister who would not be immediately ousted in a confidence vote.
Any attempt to oust Macron via the impeachment process outlined in Article 68 of France’s constitution faces high hurdles to success, ultimately requiring two-thirds of members of the Assembly and Senate combined to approve it.
Perhaps the left could get the votes from the right?
It’s not even all the left (NFP) seeking impeachment, but just one party of the coalition (LFI). Their allies already said they won’t support the impeachment.
That’s probably why Macron started intriguing with the far right ever since the beginning; to ensure a united front between the center and the far right.
The left and RN will never agree, even on something they agree. Back before the elections there were multiple no confidence vote attempts which all failed because the left refused to work with RN on principle.
