I like that anybody can say anything and you automatically believe them without evidence as long as they say the magic words, “I am a Christian.”

You will be separated from your money unless you start having higher standards for accepting people’s claims.

The bot behind this sub doesn’t search for christians with some theory. This bot searches “testimony <problem>” and after receiving results from youtube it tests if Jesus was mentioned in the description. Coincidentally, it’s never buddha, vishnu, allah or whatever who are mentioned in such youtube testimonies.

      That’s how this sub found 40K testimonies. So it’s not a one-of.

Regarding standards; i’ve spoken to quite a few people in trains etc, and have obtained many 1st hand stores of supernatural experiences. in that regard i’m not interested in 2nd hand stories, because i can’t ask for details. And the more stories i’ve obtained, the more patterns i see.

Once at my work after sharing another story, a colleague asked; if all those stories of people you meet were true, then why isn’t there anyone on our department with such a story. Then after he came back from coffee he wanted my answer to which i told him that people don’t want to be told they’re not thinking clear / irrational or being told what they actually had experienced. On this department there are 2 people with interesting stories, but they probably didn’t share it with you, because you would make them out for a fool. Then half a year went by and something came up to which i replied; do you remember what i told you half a year ago (which he didn’t so i had explained him again). Then he said; well, at least it wasn’t Henk. (he mentioned Henk because he’s the most analytical programmer/rational thinker on our department. funny thing was; one of them with a story was actually Henk.

I suspect I am talking with a bot actually because nothing in this last response has anything to do with what I said.

Yes, you have explained how the bot posted it, but if a bot posts something an idiot says that is clearly not true, you aren’t forced to believe it because you are Christian. That is not one of the orders Christ gave to mankind, is it?

an idiot says that is clearly not true,

There’s no science to prove it right nor wrong.

              Jesus says:

Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear. (explained)

              and:

john 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

              There’s no forcing.

Well Jesus has revealed to me that you lack critical thinking skills. He says it isn’t an intelligence thing, he says you are doing it willfully, because you care more about a perception of saving others over truth.

It’s funny, because no matter what, Jesus always seems to agree with the person using his name, doesn’t he?

i’m not here to judge them upfront. like i said, it collect all of them which fit the experience and let the viewer decide what to conclude.

i agree that the lady in this video isn’t very convincing, because in her story she doesn’t convey the details of how deep she was into spirit-contact and how they manifested, and where/how the experience went astray from the masses. (there are other testimonies who do share that detail)

But if i gauge you correctly, you wouldn’t believe people sharing about their contact with spirit-guides anyway. So no matter where the experiences lead you would all take them for lunatics, and give yourself the credit for being critical.

I would say my line of thought is that it is good enough to say, “I was wrong and the people who practice yoga are wrong.”

That should be good enough. Instead, it always comes down to “people of different cultures who practice a different religion are in league with demons.”

Jesus never once told these people to engage in bigotry.
