Why not just host these on [insert name of large instance]?

The whole point of the fediverse is that we’re decentralised, we’re federated. With the mass exodus of people from Reddit it seemed we were becoming centralised around a few large instances. I wanted to do my bit to contribute to the solution.

Why aren’t you taking registrations?

This was a difficult one to balance but it all comes down to purpose. The purpose of this instance is to host communities but not necessarily to host individual Lemmy accounts. With limited resources I had to chose one over the other. That’s not to say this can’t change in the future.

Can I request a community be established?

Sure thing! As long as it aligns with the general theme of this instance. Just reach out via the contact info above.
