Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you drive differently as left-handed if wheel was on other side?
1·6 hours agoWrong. A third of the world’s population drives on the left, 1/6th of the world’s land area.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you drive differently as left-handed if wheel was on other side?
11·6 hours agoYou’re not in a different position, because you’re driving on the other side of the road. You’d be in different position if you had to drive on the same side.
I’ve done 30 years right handed and 15 left handed. Doesn’t make a difference. You just grab the wrong side for the clutch for the first 10 minutes after swapping.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your thoughts on apolitical people?
194·1 day agoSomeone who thinks they don’t participate in politics.
I once read half of the worst book I’ve ever read. I posted a bad review on Goodreads and got attacked by the writer’s mates, who’d all left good reviews. I don’t trust Goodreads reviews.

10·1 day agoI would have masked up, but it wasn’t possible to get masks in the UK. So I caught Covid and Long Covid instead.
PS. Mask up. It’s not gone.

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•What the fuck do people even talk about with family? My mom wants to "talk to me" but like... about what lmao? do I ramble for half an hour about "free will vs determinism"?
2·2 days agoThe other day we had a family gathering and we’d all paired off talking quietly. Then my mother suddenly piped up saying “and now we will talk about this, answer this question”, ruining everyone’s conversation. My niece and I shut her down, but it was too late, the rest of dinner was awkward as hell.
