War Drop is such a banger! I was very surprised about what a bass can do. Perfect match with her voice.
Well… 32 years is a damned long time. I think the part at 3:10 is typical Thommy Vetterli. The rest is really different to the legacy material. Let’s see when there are more songs to hear. I am pumped anyway, LOL
Just pre-ordered the vinyl.
Let’s hope they can make a comeback as strong as Exhorder did.
I found them very cool and interesting when they came out with this. They couldn’t nail it to 100% but the approach was very original.
If you are into CDs or vinyl, you can still get them (vinyl would be used of course). And you can buy the album on Bandcamp for 8€ I think.
Don’t know whether they are on any other streaming platform, I only use tidal and sometimes Bandcamp.
Yeah, the singer really does the trick IMO.
I missed their last concert (support gig for Tankard), but my wife was there and she enjoyed it.
RUMetal@lemmy.worldOPto Thrash Metal@lemmy.world•Nihilistic violence by RevocationEnglish3·1 month agoThat’s a fantastic track, too. I like the more brutal approach they used on this album in comparison to let’s say “Great is our sin”.
My brain keeps adding vocals 😆
There is a book by a German sociologist which states that Heavy Metal makes introvert and rather scary personailites happy and feel safe. Maybe that’s the answer. We are scaredy-cats looking for shelter in loud guitar music. 😆
Glad you like it!
Interesting idea. I don’t know of a purely instrumental thrash band yet.
Exactly. Let’s hope for a tearful reunion. 😆
Haha, thanks man. Glad you like it!
Unfortunately the singer has left which actually hurts them. They released a single with the guitarist singing. IMO he can’t keep up.
But this album is a real breaker.
Btw. I will check out your older posts as there are bands I don’t know yet. Looking forward to crate digging.
My brother’s favourite Meshuggah song and clearly a monster. 👍🏻
Yeah, definitely there are Bay Area vibes. 👍🏻
They just released an EP which I haven’t heard yet. Blackfire from Sodom is a member, although he doesn’t write songs for them. I think they are pretty neat.
Such a loss that they do not work anymore.
They are so good and are getting bettet with every Album. Excellent choice for a post.
