I’ll add my vote for Sid Meyer’s Alpha Cebtauri, it is a masterpiece. If you want to branch out Master of Magic is also quite fun and adds some interesting twists. Though it’s not a Sid Meyer game. There’s even a remake of it.

Well, I was raised a super political conservative, Mormon. Now I’m an Atheist Liberal. Does that count?

Time with the wife and kids… Ok, that’s worth the sacrifice, but the in-laws… Oof that’s rough.

Pearl Jam every chance I get

Yeah, I have the same on my office door.

They make maglocks that you could put in the corner of the doorframe. Then wire it to an esp32. Esphome to connect it and home assistant to control.
I use one for a liquor cupboard that auto locks if my wife and I both leave the house. (well our phones anyway)
The one thing that is common among all the meds is if there’s a song playing in my head. Wake up, random song in my head. Take my meds and notice sometime later that it’s quiet. About the time the meds wear off there’s a song again. Doesn’t matter if it’s methylphenidate, song about 4 hours later. Extended release song 8 hours later. Same with vyvanse.
The song can be anything today it was the mcu intro music. It could be a song from a commercial 30 years ago, or some earworm from one of my kids playlists or shows.
