Maybe thats the problem with people these days!

People only care about price so now everything is built as cheap as possible, corners cut everywhere so now everything is shit… because it needs to be cheap! It’s getting harder to find anything that seems built to last more than a year.

As scummy as Amazon might be, they’re still the only company that offers anything that resembles convenience. eBay could’ve challenged Amazon but profit over service and those in charge walking round with their head up there arse’s and now it’s a poor copy of aliexpress that seems to be 90% chinese crap in the UK! I’m not wasting an hour trawling every online store when I know Amazon has it… so what if its £3 more!

And sadly the cheap money has gone and no-one wants to offer a better Amazon because there’s money in it because… everyone wants everything cheap! 🤦‍♂️😞

We need to move away from money incentives!

Before anyone says “oh but they need to make money…” open source has worked great for most things. All money has done is ruin everything it touches!

YouTube is full of idiots promoting their opinions or often not even opinions, just regurgitating someones else youtube video so now all we have is “omg man, like and subscribe…” 20 times an hours with about 5 minutes of anything slightly useful, if not just a full paid promotion. Not to mention most videos would be much better as a blog or actually useful wiki you can follow without trying to find something useful in a video!

If you removed all the junk from YouTube, you could probably just run off a an 8 bay NAS! 😎

I have no idea how bad any of the other social media platforms are these days since I have no friends and youtube is the one that really ****s me off these days! 🤬

There was a time I used to think people like this were nuts… but the more I have to deal with the sheer incompetence of people the more I question how people are becoming such idiots! 🤔😞🤦‍♂️

I think we’re now seeing what happens when the rich have too much control and people continue to let it happen.

Free speech, Wage theft, the car you drive, the way people who don’t, or can’t work are alienated… even the way people vote are all used to divide people and make it easier to take away peoples freedoms!

It really is utterly disgusting whats going on but as we see in Wales, Labour is an even shittier, controlling party! 😞

I mean, why isn’t everyone using open source at this point? Companies are just clamming to suck up as much money as possible from people still stupid enough not to learn from what every other company has done! 🤦‍♂️

Not sure if they’ve improved it but meshtastic also used to require a module per device/phone so sadly you can’t dot them around and allow multiple people to share them like with group events.

Yeah, lets wait and see because nothing apple touches is by anything but apples book! But then the whole USB C shambles is such a mess its hard to know if its crappy cables or companies being aholes because my ipad will charge with 1 cable, but not another, yet both charge my pixel fine.

But then i’m not spending £ks on an iPhone anymore when they seem to be following google’s book and have separate departments that never collaborate so you get garbage software! 😡

Oh look, hoovering up all the money makes for a shitty country, who’d have guessed it?

Its like the whole “we need to privatise x so private companies invest in those services… “ except the only thing private companies invest in is cost cutting and bigger hoovers to suck the profits off to there tax havens! 🙄

But the bigger question is, how has no other party stood up and capitalised on the current shitshow? I mean, it really makes you wonder who runs the puppet show?

But also, how can the rich continue thinking the way the do and watching the decline as it becomes harder to suck up the money up because treating people like shit drastically lowers productivity… which effects there income because clearly all they want is to stuff there ego’s with money to counter that “I’m a shitty rich moron” feeling every morning! 🙄🤦‍♂️

I tried moderating once when Lycos chat was a thing but the problem with everything on the internet is you have to deal with power mad nut jobs that’ll do anything to knock you down if they see enjoying it.

So I really don’t get how good people can last in unpaid positions when you have people with no morale compass grind you down because boring people feel the need to take down anyone that dares ‘have fun’!

So it doesn’t surprise me when I randomly login to Lycos chat once a year, or 10 and see how lifeless it is and sadly no-one seems to have understood what attracted people there, or tried to improve on it! 😞

I only have 2 100a tied to a hybrid inverter but I still don’t understand how anyone installs solar without batteries. Yes, its an extra cost but with the electric prices right now… 😳

It also sucks for those of us renting but the hybrid inverter seems to be ideal. I’ve gutted my electric use to my networking rack, white goods and shower but from tomorrow I should be good to run everything except the shower off a few solar panels and the 2 batteries when it’s a good day like today.

Hopefully the board that’ll let me integrate it into MQTT will be here tomorrow and i can start looking at getting alerts when batteries are 90% so then I know i can run washing machine/dishwasher and hopefully save enough to put into wind for winter, lol.

Screw the electric companies greed! Once everything is setup, i might have to see if i’d save enough buying batteries and using octopus tariff to charge them, although i’m anti smart meter so… 😞

Or we could all just vote for people that aren’t corrupt… or at least, yet!

If you don’t know who isn’t corrupt, vote for independents that understand technology. I know it’ll never happen so things will continue to go downhill but gees, what do governments have to do to get people to wake up? 🤬

The only reason brexit is a failure is if you believed the government that things would be better! I’m going to bet the government is loving all the infighting of brexit this, brexit that and blaming voters and not the government for the mess!

If the government wanted brexit to work, they would’ve made it work! Stop blaming voters/society for the mistakes of governments!

Because ultimately that is EVERY password managers weakness! I’m also still skeptical about the abuse, is it passkeys or something that I’m going to guess will make it so much easier to do social engineering on so I’d personally never use it on a vault.

I’d bet the whole brexit thing is a scam!

I mean even now, everyone is still fighting with each other over which way people voted but what did people expect? It was never about brexit, brexit was never going to work because politicians want everyone to bicker amongst themselves and not care about what THEY are doing and it’s worked perfectly!

Just think about it, if government really wanted it to work, they could easily have done a number of things to improve the UK, but thats not what they want!

Brexit, benefits, COVID, immigration… even religion, it’s all used to control people! The bigger question is really why tf do people keep falling for the same shit every time? Because nothing changes for the better until people wake up, work together and demand better because A.I. might still suck now, but once it improves, things are going to get so much worse!

Is it a M1 chip?

We’re having the same issue with picking refresh rates which I think is linked to something quirky Apple is/isn’t doing on the M1 chips.

My 2018 MacBook Pro works fine, can select refresh rates… M1 Mac Pro doesn’t see anything, M1 MacBook Pro only lets you see 30/60hz but is flaky displaying anything ‘if’ it decides to see it. So the only option would be to have a scaler up/down convert it (Like blackmagic UpDownCross converter) but I haven’t tested if that solves the issue yet since I don’t own one and as they are now, unlikely to every buy one!

It used to be ok a few months ago but my god, all I did the other day was scroll past train, stolen video clips and general utter shit! How anyone likes that crap is beyond me but I guess thats what happens when 90% of the population have been turned into morons!

It’s gone from slightly entertaining to TV level shittyness so ended up deleting it so now hove nothing to entertain me when on the throne! 😞

Maybe just top calling it A.I. to begin with until it actually has ANY inteligence!

You look at the timeline and they all start off ok’ish but the more they ‘improve’ them, the worst the get! Although Google will likely dump it for another in 6 months anyway like they usually dump every other decent service they come up with!
