Chasing the wrong cloud, my friend. Instead of purging specific companies trading questionable goods, one can advocate among friends and family to buy less questionable alternative.
For example, instead of buying a tool that can be used for assault, get interested in ones physical security. Get to know main types of threats and how to prevent them without the use of assault tools: CCTV, whistles, locks, hinges, appropriate metals / materials and where to apply them. Once you yourself are okay with security you may start recommend it to your friends and family.
By spending money and time in security industry you’re pulling away money that could be used to support arm dealing. Additionally, you prevent the need for arm’s use, making it pointless for your enemy to invest in weapons.
I think the game of life can be relevant here

Regarding 1.:
It seems that even if a picture is hosted externally (for example via imgur), local instance still caches the picture in its original quality…
For example in this very post the picture is hosted on imgur but beehaw preloads it in original quality, which could be seen in link of preview https://beehaw.org/pictrs/image/96878b21-2474-491c-a691-be8c4151d71f.jpeg
I always wandered what was his deal… He seemed like he confused his personal therapy chat with reddit/lemmyverse
Anyways, he left a short but memorable appearance. Much gratitude goes to “perthchat news publishing inc” for this beautiful obituary
Yeah, it works but as of now requires to rewrite few hundred lines of python to connect to Lemmy API
I was hoping to find an easy guide to generate a simple GCal / CalDav link or ICS file from a post. This way one doesn’t need to write/test/deploy/maintain code and could use it right from the get-go
I’ll link the guide to this reply once I come across it
You’re describing working at oil rig xD
Overall, almost any company is quite bad at organizing housing at the scale of “town”. Building all this infrastructure is very burdensome task for a regular company with low 2-digit margin
For capitalists it’s a dream but in reality it’s quite hard to do – fortunately or unfortunately

I mean, of course gallery of a phone going to be littered with household stuff. All good photos of you and your family should go to the appropriate storage directory.
Instead, mobile device storage is very well suited to temporary photos that are not scary to loose. One has to keep in mind that photos of value on the phone will be irrecoverably destroyed in case of phone malfunction/drowning.
Don’t forget to make backup, kids
Thank you, I appreciate this sentiment. I think every article talking about RISC-V should state clear that it’s not truly open – same way article about CPUs must include a disclaimer that Xnanometer fab process is a lie marketing term.
However, at the end of the day, when my 15 y.old phone dies from the old age, I would like to replace it with more open hardware i.e. vote with my own wallet for openness. I can’t wait RISC-VI that will open up more of its design – when it does, i’m gonna buy a second phone, rpi or anything that can sell me
Currently RISC-V is our champion. For now gotta stick with it and to make it more mainstream before raising the bar of openness.
are we so terminally online that we like … became an actual meme of ourselves?
