This has been my mindset as well. This is an awkward phase where Reddit alternatives are still being built out and millions of people are trying to find their home. Once the dust settles and communities build up, I hope to use the fediverse as I did site:reddit.com.
But for now, I think its okay to get information from reddit and bounce right after. Depending on what you’re looking for, ChatGPT does seem to be a decent alternative to both Google and Reddit at the same time, though.
I know exactly what you mean. My SO is a phenomenal planner for vacations. Like you, my neuro-spicy ass has a hard time thinking ahead. I spent one night chatting with GPT4 and web browsing plugins to come up with enough information to where I felt studied/prepared for our upcoming trip and my SO felt happy I did anything.
At first it felt like I was trying to cheat and get answers quick, but honestly it helped me a lot just by getting the ball rolling in a safe space. Sometimes I need help just doing the thing, and ChatGPT felt like an artificial shoulder to lean on, so-to-speak.
I wish I had an answer, but I will confirm this has happened to me multiple times as well. Im a mobile user, so I dont know if it’s specific to mobile or not.
Either way, I havent been able to deduct why this happens. After refreshing it usually seems to go away though.
