Liberal identity politics specifically excludes economic marginalization. Otherwise, they’d have think about capitalism, and that’s not what liberals ever want to do.

I know that if I get some long term disease like cancer, I’m just going to die. I can’t afford treatments. I’ve helped friends glue up stab wounds, and had friends do minor (very minor) surgery on me because I had an infected wound and couldn’t afford the doctor. Had to lance it and clear out the infection. Got really drunk for it. That’s not even the end of it. I’ve got many stories between me and my friends.

Well, we still have places for mentally ill people. They might be worse than our prisons. Nobody ever goes willingly. They aren’t hospitals as much as holding centers.
There are hospitals, but whether you can get treatment in one is dependent on whether you can afford it or if you live in an area that provides those benefits.
