If rookie Peyton Manning was starting for us right now the same people would be saying, “oh he will be a serviceable backup, blah blah blah.” Until you get solid OLine play, you never know what you have in a qb. He just got done facing 2 top defenses and 1 decent defense the past 3 weeks, missing his starting blindside tackle, and amid all the changes, has played OK. That makes me take a wait and see approach to the kid.

Meh. Very short list of rookies that kill it their first year. And the ones that do either have a stud o-line or are dual threat (who seldom make it long term anyway).

Competitive games, plus one win out of MIA, KC, KC, and wins against MIN, LA, and IND. That puts our record at 9-7, and probably a Donkey beating away from the playoffs.
