I’m surprised at the low number of goals. No team averaging more than 2 goals per game, did some math and 811 goals in 325 matches would come down to just under 2.5 goals per game on average. Quite surprising? You’d think Brazilian league would be more forward-thinking and goal-scoring?
The spirit they showed fighting back in the second half was exactly what’s been missing a long time from the senior squad. Here’s hoping it’s not a one-off and in a few years there’s a better generation following up.
