The synths were played, btw, by noone lesser than Don Airey, Rainbow’s keyboarder who also worked with Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Saxon, etc. He certainly knows how to get decent synth parts into Metal.

No binutils, coreutils, shell, vcs etc? I’d expect a full distro to be at least mostly POSIX compatible. But even so, “Kernel and file systems” doesn’t make much sense because the file systems already are in the kernel. And a kernel without userspace will miss anything to communicate with because that all is in userspace.

Calling GParted a distro is quite a bit over the top, IMO. It’s a bootable partition manager. A pretty good one but still a partition manager. Even if it has a stripped down Linux kernel under the hood (running anything else would be pointless as file systems are almost exclusively implemented in the kernel).

Little update: Got it soldered on rasterboard and integrated into my rack, powered by my pedalboard’s isolated ten line-PSU (thanks to individually settable voltages) and running as intended. Just to realize that I’ll need an option to send CC#28 (bypass on/off). I’ve implemented it as “both switches on” (I just had to rewrite the better part of the input routine for it - 2 bits representing D2 and D3 instead of clumsy if-then- else clauses) and am just about to take the whole thing apart to connect the SPI programmer. Might just drill another hole or better extend the ISP header to the outside for easier firmware upgrades- I am afraid that “simple two afternoons job” is about to become one of these projects unless I’ll stand strong against the persuasions of feature creep. If anyone is interested I can upload wiring diagram and code as soon as the last change is tested and working.

I guess they like someone literally covering their ass while they are eating. Ambushing another animal while eating wouild be a very cat-like thing to do and most of the weird things they do have evolutionary reasons. Being unpredictable and enigmatic for example makes a lot of sense for an abush predator.
