Hah, that’s a fun one. Fixing it now.

The point is that one would think that Jewish people might have learned that mass murder is bad. That said, Israel seems to have forgotten so it’s unsurprising that a right wing loon like Laura Loomer would also fail to understand the lessons of history.

These are old satellites but they still have value and haven’t been replaced.
You’d think they would have rebranded.
Edit: Oh, they’re dead and gone. Good, I thought some small portion had survived or something.

I’m not sure what I did to deserve being cussed at when I was just talking about electric kettles. Especially since I said I do use a kettle myself.
vortic@lemmy.worldto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Derail any conversation by mentioning "microwaving your water" ruleEnglish2·15 days agoOne reason that some Americans microwave water rather than use a kettle is that our electricity is half the power of UK electricity. It takes a lot longer for an electric kettle to boil here. That said, I do use a kettle when boiling water for tea.
Palestine: “I want to be free!”
Israel: “That’s a threat! They want to destroy us! Did you see what they said to us, U.S.?!”
USA: “Yep, clear as day antisemitism and a threat of terrorism. It might even be a war crime!”

The senators knew they’d do this from the moment they voted to confirm. This is just premeditated political backtracking to fix as much damage as they can now that they’ve received their reciprocal favors.

At this point, with no proof to the contrary, it seems like this should be labeled a kidnapping and law enforcement should be assisting in his recovery.
I suspect, whether this is a case of ICE kidnapping a citizen or someone else posing as ICE, we really will start seeing kidnappings by non-ICE criminals as they see that they can get away with it.
This administration claims they want to stop human trafficking, but they’re giving traffickers the perfect cover.

A portion of the process is intended to weed out extremism and potential threats trying to find a way into the country. It seems to at reviewing social media posts for problematic content would have been standard procedure already.
The part I have a problem with is who gets to determine what is extremism. In the past that determination likely came from non-partisan federal acency rule-making. Now it is likely coming from the partisan administration.

Plans to Reconsider a Ban on Cancer-Causing Asbestos | The Trump administration’s move sets back a decades-long effort to end the use of the material, which is widely banned in other countries.30·20 days agoIt’s like they’re just trying to find all of the most abhorrent things they can do. Even neglecting the health concerns, aren’t there better materials than asbestos at this point anyway?
You know, I get it, they’re probably just an asshole. Maybe they’re having an emergency, though. How about just letting them get around in case there is a good reason for driving recklessly? Or maybe just in case they’re nuts enough to make things violent?
