Health - Resources and discussion for everything health-related@lemmy.world•Scientists Tested What's Really in "Psilocybin" Chocolate and Found Something AlarmingEnglish
2·3 months agoThe article does not specify what sort of businesses they purchased the samples from, just “sold in Portland, Oregon”. So, I presume they did purchase some of the samples from reputable dispensaries.
This phenomenon also occurs on the dark web, which I think most consumers agree is generally a safer source than gas stations. You can find all sorts of “shroom extract” type products that are marketed as being made with psilocybin that they extracted from mushrooms. But the community consensus is that at best, they are most likely actually just using synthetic grey-market 4-AcO-DMT, and at worst, the products contain some unknown substance, so it is just best to steer clear entirely.

9·4 months agoClosest thing we can do is make verifying them not necessary.
So I should be able to just enter
email@example.comas my email address? How can I tell whether or not a given instance requires verification?

Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•Looking for a PieFed instance that doesn't require me to provide an email addressEnglish
22·4 months agoLemmy allows instance administrators to choose whether or not email is is required for registration. All the Lemmy accounts I have used have been without an email address. I am not sure if PieFed does not offer that option, or if there are simply no anonymous PieFed instances at the moment. Which is totally understandable.

I had never heard of The Captains’ Summit
Star Trek: The Captains’ Summit is a Paramount Pictures Star Trek documentary which was released on Blu-ray video on 12 May 2009 and later on DVD. It was produced for inclusion in the Star Trek: Original Motion Picture Collection Blu-ray and DVD sets as a separate bonus disc.
Whoopi Goldberg hosted William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy, and Jonathan Frakes in a seventy-minute round-table discussion centered around performing the role of a Starfleet captain.
The actors recounted many anecdotes regarding the production of their respective Star Trek projects and the aftermath following their tenure as captain.

Lemmy Apps@lemmy.world•[Question] Would a "soft block" be a useful feature?English
1·7 months agohaving an option to auto collapse/hide them, but still access them if needed would make things easier for many folk
This logic could also be useful if applied to comments from filtered users. As OP mentions:
blocking someone will hide their comments AND any replies to those comments
I can definitely imagine the following chain of events occurring:
- Reading through comments under a post
- Glossing over a collapsed comment from a filtered user
- Feeling lost reading the replies to that filtered comment
- Wanting to briefly un-filter that comment just to get the appropriate context

6·7 months agoI had always made the connection that there was a Rick who genuinely did look similar to Liz! But it just adds another layer to the joke when you take into account the nametag line from the previous episode, implying that this new manager was already trying to avoid this type of mix-up from occurring

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Webm supports multiple audio and subtitle tracks inside its RIFF container structure, why the hell arent browsers supporting it???English
6·7 months agoIs that specific to RIFF/WEBM or something? Because from my limited experience with subtitles, “the creator” absolutely does have control over that. Though it can always be overridden by the client, of course.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Webm supports multiple audio and subtitle tracks inside its RIFF container structure, why the hell arent browsers supporting it???English
381·7 months agoNot sure what that has to do with “multiple audio and subtitle tracks”. Would supporting that somehow lead to “autoplay music” any more than from the features that browsers already support?
