If I wanted my deck to be my plex/immich/file server, I could do so without making a single change to the stock os.
It’s the same reason the US gives Israel money for military aid. They turn around and give it all back to US based arms manufacturers.

In that case, https://www.protondb.com/ will be your best friend, telling you exactly what you need to do to get things running.
That being said, some games simply can’t be run under Linux. They might work in the future as compatibility improves but some won’t. If it’s an issue for you, you might want to dual boot windows as a workaround.

Old reddit does the same thing on desktop but if that goes away I’ll be fully done with it. As it is I am about an 80/20 split between lemmy and reddit now so it’s probably going to happen regardless but that would speed things up.
