Yeah a torrent is a good idea actually because the content is never expected to change. And depending on the folder strucutre, people could just seed a subset of communities to save space, so maybe only the communities they’re interested in.

How much space does the whole archive take up? I could spare a few TB on my NAS but I suspect it may be more than single digit TBs?

not really related, but thanks for all the work done to set this place up. Looks pretty good so far.

Also, I’ve only ever used lemmy before and not piefed, but piefed looks to have a ton more options and settings and such. Interesting to browse. Maybe I move my lemmy account to something piefed.
