Follow your bliss.
Ah, I think you may have missed the memo.
During the last vote it was decided that we would prioritize the dignity of workers over the glory of the state. We determined that farmers can grow pretty much whatever they want as long as they’re respectful of their neighbors. Additionally as part of our agricultural department’s work they will add novel hybrids grown by farmers to our seed bank so that people will have access to a variety of crops and can choose what best suits their climate and needs. Obviously the department has recommendations for what to grow, but we’re not ignorant of the fact that all things change in time. Climate, soil quality, people’s tastes, etc.
Also as part of our efforts we’ll try to stay ahead of outstanding circumstances such as a fungus or parasite destroying an overly relied upon crop.
If you have any suggestions for changes please submit a pull request to our legal code in source control. To be respectful of people’s time we recommend discussing changes with neighbors and colleagues before submitting a pull request, as many problems can be resolved without involvement of the law.
Making me pay $80 for Mario Kart World impacts me way more directly than a company exploiting public water resources, ergo Nintendo is more evil than Nestle.
Nothing says “Friday” like the failure of a critical system!
Don’t use someone else’s yardstick to measure your success.
Mission Accomplished.
I’m afraid I’m going to have to ignore what you just said. :(
If it makes you feel any better, as an American I don’t judge people based on decisions made by their country. We’re all stuck on this planet together and I’d like everyone to have some good times if possible.
You’re totally right, lol
I was spelling from memory and I always pronounced it as “yerk” in my head because it rhymed with “jerk”.
I’m going to leave my mistake, I’m not ashamed to be imperfect.
Brain slugs from the Animorphs book series.
The yerks are on Earth.
Yeah, that’s fair. I guess the hypothetical I had in my mind was if I’m at war and the enemy is torturing their POWs, I’m not going to start torturing mine because that would go against my morals. I was interpreting “going low” as abandoning my own values.
“Growing a spine” is contradictory to “going low”.
Physics isn’t solved, so I don’t think it’s fair to call it ruthlessly inflexible. https://youtu.be/nn94mn8ozOI
“Dream” concept leaves us in total chaos without even a theoretical chance to figure out how things work.
I disagree. There’s no reason the scientific method (observe, question, hypothesize, experiment, record data, draw conclusions) can’t be applied in dreams.
Just because your dreams aren’t consistent or logical doesn’t mean it’s impossible to have a logically consistent dream.
My go to response is usually “what do you mean by that?” Generally people say stuff like that to imply it’s impossible to “know” anything. But does it really matter if this is a dream or not?
Either tbh lol
Everyone has a different amount of curiosity for different things. Just because someone doesn’t want to know how a carburetor works doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in other things.
Also curiosity can be a luxury. Some people are very focused on following the beaten path because they think it might be safer. Start asking questions and rocking boats and you might cause problems. Curiosity killed the cat and all that. Over a lifetime people settle into their own groove of curiosity and satisfaction.
