Steve Burke is a treasure. It’s rare to see anyone in the space stand up to companies like Asus because so many of them are dependent upon getting review samples for free and so on. He just doesn’t seem to give a shit and I love him for it, and his subscribers reward him for it. I wish the auto industry had more people holding their feet to the fire.
Microsoft gave up on QA a long time ago.
This is quite the comprehensive list. A nice reference for the future. Hopefully he keeps it up to date as the list of offenses grows.
I tried new outlook once and it was such a fucking disaster I’m still shaking from it 6 months later. It was also a giant pain to go back to classic.
It’s really unfortunate they kinda screwed over threadripper customers so bad in this way, but they’re still the lesser evil by a country mile.
Not only Asus, it talks to general ways to understand warranties and rights across the industry.
It said 120Hz with VRR so I’d have to assume that’s a resounding yes. I ended up putting a deposit on one of the panels to upgrade my AMD FW13.

Yeah it’s there now but wasn’t when it first launched.
I would have probably bought it if it were on steam but alas it was not and turned out to be mediocre anyway. Loved the original series
I had a math professor that looked just like this. His sneakers were falling apart, shirt always half untucked. We all speculated that he slept in his office.
Not to mention the charging infrastructure is one of the reasons some people haven’t made the switch yet. Anything holding back charging expansion is a disaster in my view.
HA is an absolute treasure.
I’ve been relatively pleased with my AMD FW13 laptop in Linux. There are a few nagging issues but they have a robust support community with posts/workarounds for common issues. I don’t regret the purchase at all and I love what framework is doing as a company.
Can never be too sure if it’s going to stay lit after the fluid burns off so it’s always encouraged to add extra.
Just playing files via NFS storage. I haven’t ever tried Jellyfin so I’m not sure.
Most of this column makes a lot of sense and I’m sure it’s more correct than not, but the lack of detail to back up his claims is a bit frustrating. The security section in particular reads like a “trust me bro” rant. It’s been a while since I’ve seen anyone suggest that Intel is the best choice for system hardware-level security.
