car decided a reflection was an imminent collision risk and braked hard on the motorway
I had that almost happen once- it didn’t actually brake, but it did the very loud “omg we’re gonna die” alert, freaked out my wife & kids. Then there’s the fun of fighting with the lane keeping assist when it wants to follow the seams in the concrete rather than the painted lines… Fortunately that “feature” can be disabled.
What’s the barrier to entry of any kind of performance? What’s stopping you from standing on the street corner playing saxophone?
I don’t know the Lemmy equivalent, but /r/raisedbynarcissists…
It’s pretty well established that women tend to get into more accidents than men, but they tend to be minor fender benders that don’t cost all that much, while men tend to cause accidents very rarely, but when we do, multiple vehicles are destroyed and people die, and that’s a great deal more expensive in the long run. So you haven’t had an at fault accident in 20 years, doesn’t mean you won’t destroy a school bus tomorrow.
Most likely defenestrated.
Just to bolster your point, I rented a U-Haul trailer for all my stuff last time I moved, including an enormous 3 piece solid oak entertainment center, and pulled it with a vw Jetta wagon.
My uncle had 3-phase to his house for a heavy duty workshop, so it is possible, but I believe he had to pay a lot up front for it, significantly more than a single phase 240V hookup to a new house would have been.
Everyone outside of California hates Californians for weird reasons…
He was good as the heel in down periscope…
Yeah, letting it gas out works for the chlorine taste, but it still tastes funky, likely due to minerals so I’m fine with my RO.
Oh I have RO, one of the first things I put in when I bought the house, and already had to replace it once, the last one took really obscure filters that were hard to find, it ended up being simpler to replace the thing with one that took more common replacement filters. And I’ve tried more ordinary filters, it makes it better, but it still tastes funky, I prefer RO.
almost everything you’ve done once is easier the second time around
And yet he still failed. He quit after 9 months, that’s 3/4 of the way to his deadline. 62k is not even 1/10th of the goal. I get close to that just going to work every day.
Yeah, but answers are hard, much easier to be a judgemental prick. (And people like that call people like us lazy…)
you have the power to confiscate a billionaire’s possessions for no other reason that they’re a billionaire, then there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from turning that power against anyone you don’t like.
This is already how it is for poor people…
contingent on a billionaire commiting a crime
Weird how so many crimes are the things poor people do out of desperation rather than the things rich people do to coerce poor people to do the things poor people don’t want to do…
Yes- especially people like Bill Gates, who gives to charities he controls, so basically he’s still benefiting from the power his insane wealth brings, but gets to pretend he’s helping the world.
I live in the Phoenix area. Our tap water won’t kill you, but it tastes nasty. That’s because aside from the hardness, it’s so full of chlorine to kill the bacteria, amoebas, and fungus that might kill you otherwise, it’s like drinking swimming pool water. Anyone who can afford it has a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water. Anyone who can’t afford it buys bottled water, which is probably why they can’t afford the filter…
Fill it with wee!
Eh, not really… Black bear cubs are quite capable of climbing trees, the mother will definitely make her displeasure known to you, but it’s mainly for show.
Source: I once unwittingly startled a mama black bear and her cubs, ended up falling flat on my back so I was quite vulnerable, she could have easily torn me apart if she wanted to, but she just charged at me, stopped about 6 feet away grumbling, stomped the ground, and clacked her teeth at me. The cubs were up their trees faster than squirrels.
