The fact that it wasn’t licensed to a current movie or television show probably worked to it’s advantage. The developers wouldn’t have been under the pressure to produce a game that released at the same time as the media it was based on. It had to give them a lot more time to create a good product.

This is a game I remember renting and while I don’t remember much about it, I do recall liking it.

That exactly how I feel about it. I was playing a borrowed copy of it and never got to complete the game.
It boggles me that games that aren’t any where near as good have had some sort of second life on current game systems, but this is ignored.
