Regenerative braking and brake by wire are 2 very different things. Agreed. Its really well written, but 90% of the characters would have to look and be a decade older to feel comfortable enjoying it. I spent more time being very uncomfortable with the csam (can’t even really call it “borderline” in the manga) than I did enjoying the story and world building.
If anything, reading it made me more wary of manga with obvious children in the cast, and less likely to read it through (I read through made in abyss with a morbid curiosity about whether the author would tone it dow n in later chapters, and holy shit did they not do so).
