  • The consistency is something I’m extremely glad about and in all honesty, it just makes collecting a lot simpler. Also puts less weight on collecting just Japanese cards if you’re mostly interested in the silver borders or the holo borders. Was definitely a much needed change, imo. And yeah, the quality control really is… a bit rough in comparison lol Maybe it’ll improve

  • I have no idea if the comment I made went through before or not, so I’m sorry ahead of time if this winds up being repetitive (last time I tried responding to this post, the comment almost seemed to go to the nether? I don’t know what happened…)

Anyway, I wanted to mention that I think all of this is fantastic and that I appreciate it! I honestly didn’t even think of crossposting things to other communities ^^’ I also wanted to say that I encourage folks to post about collections if they want and that ‘collecting’ has anything to do with stuff relating to the TCG. Things like ETBs, booster boxes, premium collections, etc. If it’s relevant to the hobby, I say go for it! Showcasing cards that are in upcoming sets or that you just find neat completely works, too! (I know I’ve done my share with that lol)

Also, I’ll go ahead and post the magazine in those community sharing spaces c:

I do want to also mention that if you have suggestions or ideas for questions or topics to ask to encourage discussions or like days dedicated to something, let me know! I’ve been mulling over trying to figure stuff like that out and am wondering if those sorts of things may even be interesting to folks

  • I’d say the best way to look at it is if you’re enjoying your experience over on Lemmy, then there’s absolutely nothing wrong with sticking with it! c: This is one of the major upsides to federation, since different places can appeal to different wants or needs from their users!

That said, if you are curious about Kbin and wanna learn more about it, don’t be afraid to! The extra toggles or buttons can certainly be intimidating at first when you aren’t sure what they do. But in my opinion, one of the biggest draws for a website is having options! There’s a whole lot of good in a site that lets you make your experience more your own than simply being one-size-fits-all, and Kbin certainly offers that in a few different ways! I can’t speak for Lemmy on that front, but maybe they have similar options as well.

Apologies for the rather lengthy reply, but if you’re still curious about Kbin and some of its functionality, there is this post https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/52838/A-starting-guide-to-kbin-social-support-thread-for-new-users over on the KbinMeta magazine. It is a smidgen dated though since there have been some updates since, so if you still have questions or are still confused by something on here, don’t be afraid to ask! People are very helpful on here c:
