How about no financial products, period. No loans, no mortgage, only rent-to-own or rent. Obfuscating financial products into more complex combined financial products is half of the economy crashes. Obfuscate the numbers, steal, grab, pillage while no one can understand what the frickel you are doing and BAM: profit on the backs of normies who are tOo dumb to understand what a margin call is or why CDO’s are here to violate you. All financial products are a scam waiting in ambush, waiting for another bank-bro to think of a way they can leach from society without giving anything back.

There are zero downsides, except for auto manufacturers I guess.English6·10 hours agoI totally understand. Maybe an electric bike could get that 14 miles done in 55 minutes? 50? Still not a small bike commute, but that maybe JUST ticks it over too ‘possible’ ? I had a bike commute that took me 90 minutes, electric bike brought that all the way down to 60, driving 25km/h very consistently did the trick. Again, no judgement, 70 minutes biking is no joke.
Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto RetroGaming@lemmy.world•The Illuminator Advert - Game Boy AccessoryEnglish9·1 day agoHahaha, yeah you’re right, this sucked, but not worse then rawdogging an unlit lcd in on the go conditions. ColorLCD is a lot worse still without backlight. But not playing as alternative… phew… yeah…
Reading the thread and your responses, I thought it might be useful for you to try some other bike types, like a trekking bike and a racing bike. Because you are pretty new to biking in general, this might expand your context window efficiently and effectively. I love the feel of ‘fast’ bikes because your muscle power gets you so much, giving me a little bit of that same feeling when windsurfing or sailing. I also like the versatility and confidence a mountain bike gives you, but it’s like it eats your speed when you’re not using it for rougher terrain. Had the same experience when pushing my grandma through the forest in an offroad wheelchair, getting back on the tarmac was actually _ worse_
1.5 months is also basically just starting out, no matter if you are fit or talented, it takes some km/hours to ‘attune’ or adapt or ‘get the feel’. Same with saddle discomfort/monkey butt. Your butt and the saddle take a lot of time to get used to each other, and more time will increase comfort. Your speed will improve with just time, I’m sure. Can we have a pick of your bike?? Have fun pedaling!
Hard agree on the last sentence, just find a rhythm that feels right and adjust gears so you can paddle that on your current incline.

Accountability for enforcement is already very improbable in the US, now you wouldn’t even know if your abducter is on ICE payroll because how would you?
There are already laws about doxing, why do these ICE need/deserve more protection? If I were them, i’d quit and not be an active part of turbo-eroding (destroying?) democracy.
This is the beginning of the rest pf your life!

We all say things when we’re mad, but if you crave a bit ‘more’ interaction per day and feel neglected if you don’t, there’s bound to be someone that’s more on your wavelength.
On another note, time helps a lot. I don’t know how long ago this was, but give your sadness some time and it will soften. Good luck and stay in there.
Chee_Koala@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•What one town learned by charging residents for every bag of trash26·8 days agoThey do this since one year locally and it really feels like your municipality hates you. And I hate it too. Sometimes the garbage can is not opening, but it has already scanned your waste-card. That’s a very expensive empty can. You think I want to call to dispute the charges on my goshdarn garbage bag? Also, The price per bag is NOT mentioned on the can, only that it will cost ya money.
This system makes it so throwing your garbage from the window is the cheapest option. Which is what folks are doing now. If you make it hard or expensive to do it the right way, folks will do it the wrong way. (2,39 euro per 60L bag of garbage. If you only throw away 13 bags a year, you break even with last year’s cost.)

I really love the… Dark Neon Pond?? (the one on the left.) The darker feelings of the pond give a pleasing contrast to the neon/luminescent greens, which give me a sort of… warm nights vibe. thanks for re-sharing.

Looks pretty powerful! According to the wiki, some tanks were equipped with these as well. About max 35 RPM, pretty sick.

Power accumulation in families would be through the roof. I get that it feels crude when you can’t pass on all your wealth to your children, but it would widen the wealth gap so so much in just a couple generations. Is there another reason you think it should be untaxable?
