That is certainly true in a way. But he’s speaking down to Mamdani on “behalf” of Jewish people, no? That’s not precisely the same thing as white people, right?
I have to wonder how much of this is imposed on Germany by the USA/NATO security state, from the top-down. After WWII, the US was the one who had Germany pay reparations to Israel on behalf of all Jews, a huge moral miscalculation especially in the wake of the Nakba.
