I don’t know if this is the right place to ask for these kind of things but here we go.

I have been cheating in public Minecraft servers (you can judge me), and every time I get IP banned (about once an hour), I restart my modem so it changes my PC’s IP (I think it’s called dynamic IP, correct me if I’m wrong).

So, the thing I’m worried about is: Is there a chance for me to run out of IPs I get banned in all of them? Is the amount of IPs that I can change limited? If it is technically I can get banned in all of them, right?

It is selfish. Cheating by definition is selfish, but you are essentially eliminating other players on the same ISP network from accessing this particular Minecraft server.

So basically you’re fucking over people twice, once by cheating and secondly by denying access to Minecraft.

    YTA sir.

Yeah, it’s selfish AF, I agree, but I have changed it only 2 times so far, and I have a VPN already, it’s Mysterium Dark because it’s decentralized, I’m looking for a better one, do you know some to recommend?

So I’m not ruining nobody’s experience (except who is playing the same match as me) as far as I know

So you are ruining the experience for a lot of people. I’m impressed as your ability to justify this as okay. It’s selfish and rude to people who want to enjoy their hobby of gaming.

I wouldn’t call it a “children’s game”, haven’t seen any 9 year old playing it, but yeah, I’m fully aware that it’s shameful

Why not just host your own Minecraft server and cheat to your hearts content? I always cheat in single player games since I don’t have the time to grind so if a game has a grind element I just skip it by cheating however in a single player game you are cheating yourself - no victim as even achievements are disabled.

Sans that, my advice is to use a VPN so you don’t screw your neighbours who might get a banned IP and not be able to play the game for no fault of their own.

I have already got a VPN, people have already warned me of banning people that don’t have anything to do with it, appreciate it, I hadn’t thought of that possibility

Cheating in Single Player isn’t really an option because I’m using it in Bedwars, not a closed SMP server, and I like to grind on those, but not a fan of learning how to properly do a “Godbridge”

You made me realize that I’m a bad person and that I should stop ruining a fun game just because I’m bored

I’m sorry, I will do better from now on

Sure. But the bigger “danger” to you here is getting thwarted by something more sensible than IP-banning like HWID-banning, which isn’t something you’ll feasibly be able to circumvent.

Do keep in mind that, depending on how seriously the admins on the receiving end take their jobs, continuous nefarious and undesirable activity from IP ranges is routinely tracked and reported. That chiefly concerns typical botnet activities like DDOS and spam but certainly isn’t limited to that. Less bandwidth-intensive but still undesirable behaviors like fraud, unauthorized to foreign systems and even video game cheating are still going to incur a risk of affecting your digital life and future. How freely one is able to use online services depends on the their repute. That’s the reason why, when using a Tor exit node, you may have to suddenly solve 6 consecutive CAPTCHAs when signing up for a random service while also not being able to use other services at all, e.g. banking access.

Don’t be smelly like a Tor access node u/HighZein.
