When my workplace started to organize, I wasn’t particularly for or against it. By the time we had our contract I was strongly pro-union. I wasn’t radicalized by the union itself, or by pro-labour co-workers. I was radicalized by the insane tactics the company used to try to break us, and how clearly they showed that we were just serfs to them.
I came out of it with a NINE DOLLAR raise and we can no longer be laid off when they want to hire low-cost seasonal workers.
You love to hear it. Solidarity forever!
