I have xfinity and have 200mb/s with it.

I have an Arris SB6141 modem and a Google wifi setup with 3 pucks.

Every so often, after a bunch of zoom meetings, the latency gets really bad and when I use Speedtest.net the ping is like 700ms+ if not more. If I disconnect my router and modem and then plug them back in, things get better.

Trying to understand what is causing this bufferbloat and how to fix it. I thought it could be my modem, so I bought the Arris S33 today, not sure if that will help, but wanted some feedback on what could be causing the issue and what could help?

I’d be surprised that the SB6141 is still approved by your ISP. If you are still using the old modem, how old is the router? Also, the upload speed from 200Mbps service may be 5 or 10Mbps, which could bottle neck your activities.

    Usually the modem.

Look up if your modem has the puma chip, if so it’s Definitely the modem.

Do you have any computer with a wire that you could connect directly to the modem and do the zoom calls to see if the same thing happens? Essentially we’re tying to remove things to try figure out what might be causing the issue.

200mbps is your download speed, what is your upload speed? (zoom needs upload too).
