England’s Under-17s have been knocked out of the World Cup after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to Uzbekistan in the round of 16.
Amirbek Saidov gave Uzbekistan the lead inside the opening four minutes before Manchester City’s Joel Ndala equalised for Ryan Garry’s side after finding the bottom corner with a right-footed shot.
With 23 minutes of normal time to spare, however, Lokomotiv Tashkent midfielder Lazizbek Mirzaev struck home the winner via a free-kick to send England out of the tournament taking place in Indonesia.
