Ok, there are about 100 of us here. What is the goal of this sub? Is it exclusively for Olympic style weightlifting? Is it for any of us who pick things up and put them down for strength and/or aesthetics? Is there another goal?

I would love to be part of an active resistance training community. Is that what we want here?

    I like having an Olympic Weightlifting community, as separate from other kinds activities where people pick up heavy things and put them down again. I’m ambivalent whether this community is used for that specific sport, or lifting stuff in general.

    I’m guessing if you’re looking for the widest engagement you’ll want to increase the scope of the community.

      I agree about going broad, but I am not the mod. I posted to see where the desire of the group lies, or if the mod is active and wants to make their opinion known.

      I am not yet Olympic weightlifting, but my trainer will likely introduce it into my plan at some point. I think it looks fun, but I still have some shoulder issues to work out before we dive in.

    Just scrolling past in All, but at 100 people you guys should be including all forms of weight lifting. If needed the community can specialize later.

    As it stands no one else has posted anything to the community. Wouldn’t do much good to make 50 of those people leave because they are into a different kind of lifting, especially at this stage.

      I fully agree. I am not the mod, though, so the best I can do is solicit opinions in the hope of consensus or at least mod comment.
