Maybe a little controversial but I think this shows that these ratings aren’t as reliable for defenders.

Fuchs is the only one who won the league in that season (although Trent and Liverpool were as excellent as most winners in 21/22).

I don’t think anyone would have said that Otamendi or Fabianski had the greatest season of any defender or goalkeeper in the last 10 years and most would pick one of Van Dijk’s Liverpool seasons rather than his Southampton one.

I also expected van Dijk, but as Liverpool defender. His time at Southampton is often overlooked tho

Otamendi feels like the odd one out here. It’s suprising to see him ahead of Laporte, Dias or Stones from the same team.

I’m not, nor have I ever been a Chelsea fan, but prime Hazard was my all time favourite player to watch. He was magical.

I was intiially suprised to not see United players here, until I realised it’s been over 10 year since they won the title, that makes me feel old. Growing up during the 2000’s, I couldn’t imagine a world where United were not on or around the top. Now they feel leagues below the top teams.

    My Fabianski :')

Also don’t remember Otamendi ever being that good. He was chaotic and a liability in my memory.
