There’s a show on Apple TV+ titled “for all mankind” and its premise is that the space race never stopped. It looks interesting.
Well now I know what show I’m watching next. Thanks for this.
Just so you know what you’re getting into: Later seasons ofnthe show dial down the space exploration and dial up the character drama
Thanks for the heads up. That sounds loke most dramas with an interesting hook, if I’m being honest so I’ll still give it a go.
Granted. Mankind is now at risk of extinction after multiple countries deployed rods from god as “”“friendlier”“” and more economical alternatives to nukes after it became cheaper to manufacture and launch tungsten rods into orbit.
Technically, they’re launched from orbit, not into it.
You gotta get them up there somehow.
Space: takeoffs are mandatory, landings are optional.
Granted. Every country in the world now focuses intensely on space.
Earth’s orbit now a site of massive pollution and endless wars.
Granted
The space technology is 100 years ahead of our actual state, humanity have colonies on the Moon, Mars, Venus and many moons of the other planets. Also, we are in a total genocidal war with an alien race and we are loosing.
China recently announced they are going to annex the moon
We did some terraforming. There was life on Venus!
Was.
In 1986 the first space battle took place between the US and China in the moon orbit. In 1997 New York was wiped out by a meteorite diverted by Al-Qaeda.
The moon becomes a penal colony for political dissidents from China, The USSR and the USA etc.
Granted, an expedition on one of Jupiter’s moons brings back an undetectable deadly alien pathogen that wipes out nearly every single human being, except a few thousands that return the stone age living in isolated areas.
I hope we could skip the next stone age by turning coins into arrowheads. And using bottlecaps as coins.
yeah I wish we had been fooling with trying to fully make habitats on the moon with drones as well as messing with a space elevator there. So many things that could be worked out for future could have been done in the last decades of the old millenium.
