I’ve setup Guacamole to access my home LAN and it works amazing. But, one feature of TV I’m trying to figure out is how I can install something on my parents computer (outside my LAN) that will allow me to connect without having to rely on port forwarding on remote end (what if my mom is travelling for example).

I considered setting up a VPN, but I don’t feel the client should have constant access to my entire LAN at home.

Looking for suggestions how I could setup some sort of client setup on remote computer that works without port forwarding on remote computer. It would need to “call home” I suppose to update its remote IP and be able to connect regardless of remote firewalls, suggestions appreciated!

I tried MeshCentral, I couldn’t get it to work and didn’t like the things it tried to “automate” for me, made it hard to debug. UI looked dated, but I hear grate things. For now, I went w/ RustDesk. Sometimes, when a program is soo hard to configure, I have to use it lol, while RustDesk was hard, I at least was able to get it working.
