Bill Belichick has 300 career wins, good for 3rd of all time behind only George Halas (318) and Don Shula (328).

He has six Super Bowl rings - clearly more than any other coach in the SB era, but also tied with Halas and Lambeau for 2nd-most total Championships, behind only Paul Brown (7).

He has 9 Conference Championships, most ever by a wide margin.

He is 0.705 in the playoffs, 2nd-most of any active HC (Zac Taylor leads at 0.714).

He is tied with Shula for most total playoff appearances at 19 (Andy Reid will join them this year as the Pats will not be in this years playoffs and the Chiefs will)

He has coached 44 playoff games, six more than the 2nd-best (Andy Reid).

He has 31 playoff wins, 9 more than the 2nd-best (still Andy Reid).

It’s perfectly fine to be frustrated with the path that the Patriots are on. But talk of firing Bill Belichick? That’s like firing John Wooden or Nick Saban or Fielding Yost after 2 or 3 bad seasons. Not only is it disrespectful to them and everything they have done, but it’s disrespectful to the entire history of the sport.

Get real.

Belichick will probably coach until he hits 329 wins for most ever.

Belichick would have to coach another five years of 6-10 to hit another 28 wins. Nobody should be getting that long of a leash being that bad.

Especially when Belichick only has himself to blame for the situation he is in. Even if he is still a good coach he is a terrible GM at this point. If he cannot give up the GM role the Patriots have no path to success. And with no path to success they have no reason to keep him around.

Look at Tom Brady’s accomplishments and you’d say the same thing about him. And yet, he was shown the door because Darth Hoodie wouldn’t pay him. Bill Belichick would have gotten rid of Bill Belichick by now.

Except the NFL is a what have you done for me lately business. It’s ruthless. If he doesn’t want to get fired, quit. I do think Kraft will give him that option.

2020 NFL Draft… Tom Brady was gone, The Patriots only had Jared Stidham as QB…

Burrow, Tua, Herbert already selected… Jalen Hurts is one the board in the 2nd round…

The New England Patriots select Kyle Dugger…

Yea, this man needs to be fired. He actually thought he could win with NO QB? Maybe he didn’t think Philly would take a QB since they had one.

I looked up WR for 2019 draft to see what analyst said… They said N’Keal Harry can’t get separation and Bill still took him lol… They were saying take AJ Brown, Deebo Samuel or DK Metcalf…

So in 2019 he had the 13th pick in the 2nd round and AJ Brown and DK Metcalf was still there and this guy takes a CB that started 1 NFL game in 3 years lol.

Bill could have drafted AJ Brown and DK Metcalf back to back and had Brady could have played to 45… My god this shit gets worse the further back you look…

Plus I would argue, treating him in exactly the same fashion Bill Belichick has treated players his entire career actually honors him the most.

Why handle the most ruthless executive of the past twenty years with kid’s gloves? He didn’t even make an exception for Tom Brady (to his own detriment as it turned out).

They shouldn’t make an exception for him either.

He’s the head coach and the GM, and we have become a terribly untalented and undisciplined team. That falls on him. It’s not that we’re having a couple bad seasons, he’s constantly been messing up for years, and now we’re left in this mess.

Bruce Bochy won 3 rings with the giants, the team went into a rut and fires Bochy, goes to Texas and wins another one. Would be cool to see if Bill can get one with another team and QB.

Move on too fast for most things.

Just not winning icons. I know this crosses sports, but Kobe Magic & West means something, Russell & Bird mean something, (same with Dirk & Duncan) I root for winning icons sticking with their franchise. If I owned a team, I’d deal with a few more losses for the lore.

We remember Randy Moss and Terrell Owens as great players, but we remember Larry Fitzgerald as being greatness to the Cardinals. While the top two were better talents, who meant more to the city?

Being so close, it would be special for him to ride out as a Patriot.

This is a bad take. Yes, he’s a HoF coach and arguably one of the goats. Admittedly I’ve paid 0 attention to the Pats this year but who knows, maybe it’s time for a change of scenery. Whatever is going on over there isn’t working, and bringing in the first new fresh set of eyes in 23 years probably sounds pretty enticing to ownership and fans alike.
