Class response from the team after a difficult start, and shoutout to Oblak for his amazing save at 0-1. We dominated the second half and created chance after chance, Morata with some poor misses but he is perfectly entitled to an off day after his brilliant start to the season

Great subs from Cholo. Llorente, Barrios and Lino all made a big impact. It feels good to have this kind of depth

Otherwise credit to Villarreal, they looked MUCH better than at any point under Pacheta. Gerard is a joy to watch and this squad should suit Marcelino well. They have so many technical players that are difficult to press which is very frustrating when chasing the game

We are cooking, very strange especially since Simeone ruins attackers according to /r/soccer and Benfica fans.

    17 straight home wins.

2023 Atleti has beaten the 2 hardest teams we struggle with, Villarreal and Levante (away). Its the team of destiny.

I’ve changed my mind on us needing a Koke back-up / long term replacement. Barrios should be used further up the pitch similar to Saul or Llorente.

    Also, Lino is ridiculous.

    My unorganised thoughts.

Deserved victory for Atlético. Tbh they should’ve been up 2-1 by the 60th minute already. Villarreal was good defensively but didn’t do enough upfront.

Good job by Atlético to get back to winning after the surprise loss to Las Palmas.

Atlético’s counter attack goal for the 3rd was smooth.

Griezmann was once again everywhere. It’s up to Atléti fans but he has to be in contention for greatest ever player alongside Aragonés.

Barrios and Riquelme playing was nice to see. I’m always a fan of getting academy players involved.

Atlético seem on a clear path towards partial rejuvenation of the team a bit with Samuel Lino, aforementioned Riquelme and Barrios and also Molina, although he isn’t really “young” anymore.

I was afraid we might end up regretting Carrasco, but i am so happy that Lino surpassed everyone`s expectations. Very important win, we totally dominated the 2nd half. The only thing i want now is no injuries after this international break
