The bears now have as many wins in 13 games using a backup QB as they do in 31 games when Fields starts. People keep talking about how bad the rest of the roster is (which is true) but it’s crazy how other guys have somehow managed to get it done.

Fields takes so many sacks, misses easy completions, and the turnovers are really bad too. It’s one thing to not move the ball. But Fields has so many negative plays as a passer he actually hurts his team. He’s performing worse than a game manager.

Bears fans complain about all the screens…that’s because Fields can’t run any other passing play well enough consistently

This is it. It’s fear or famine with Fields, and it’s the famines that really set them back

Look at lamars mvp season. Fewer passing yards than that, and iirc, fewer rushing yards .

If not it’s nearly identical as far as yardage.

And yeah, fields is definitely not without his faults. That’s sack rate is an issue as is the fumbling.

Last 17 games 3100 passing 1200 rushing 35 total tds 12 ints and a lot of fumbles.

I don’t really subscribe to QB wins unless it’s over a 4 yr span or longer but damn…that’s a shocking stat. Just wow.

I think they have their eyes on Caleb Williams and will trade Fields to the Falcons next summer.

Falcons fans: can we please stop wasting our physical specimens of players by not utilizing their talent?

      (Trades for Justin Fields)

Arthur Smith: you ain’t seen nothing yet!

You’d think fans of a franchise that shipped out a HOF QB for Jordan Love would have enough to worry about.

Feel like this is a bit of a stretch considering 3 of the wins you’re listing are by Andy Dalton who was named the starter in 2021. I wouldn’t count him as a true backup - he was legit better than Rookie Fields.

In 2022-2023, it would be 2-4 vs 4-17; still awful but doesn’t show that the backups are winning much more.

It’s been remarkable how many great college qbs Ohio State churns out that end up being massive duds in the nfl, stroud not counting since he’s a rookie

This ‘argument’ is such a mouth breather take. If you think Bagent is better than Fields you should have your football watching privileges revoked.

I feel really sorry for Justin Fields. I feel like the organization that coaching staff don’t know how to really utilize his strengths.

Honestly, I kind of sympathize with the GM here. Your owner and ‘consultant’, really narrowed in on one head coach. But from the beginning if you had total control, I’m calling the Ravens about their QB coach and OC for Head Coach. Task number 1: turn JF into Lamar Jackson.

Im not sure BAL would take him as a backup. Lamar looked better throwing to no receivers early on than Fields ever has.

That Bengals game was won when Burrow threw three INTs on three consecutive passes.

IIRC one went for a pick 6, one put us in the redzone immediately, and one was still on their side of the field. I think we kicked a FG with the redzone one and punted the other. And they still almost came back and beat us.

Also Dalton was the week 1 starter Fields’ rookie year.

How exactly does it count as the backup if Dalton started all his games as the starting QB, then didn’t start a single game once benched?

Green Bay education is bad but that’s a reach. That’s like counting Tannehills wins this season as backup wins against Levis.

Came here to make this point. Whereas Fields’ wins, rare as they may be, came against a few teams who ended up with winning records. He probably would have won the 6 games his backup won. Maybe even one more.

      Which is still awful.
