So, I just arrived to the Fediverse and went to create my magazine, but I just realized that adding photos to your posts just makes these hyperlinks, but there seems no way to add the photos to the body of the message like you would in a blog, forum or Reddit.
What is like is to say, have a paragraph of text, then an image, then more text, then another image and so on.
Am I doing something wrong or could this be achieved with a css/html line in the body of the message?
EDIT: Argentcorvid’s suggestion of not putting anything into the brackets: https://en.meming.world/images/en/e/e2/Crying_Cat_with_paw_up.jpg
This is what I saw on kbin.
Ah yes, that’s what I was trying to go for.
I messed around and it happens that in order to see that, you need to go to Kbin’s quick settings and turn on the “auto media preview” option. The issue is that 1) every user needs to enable the option manually, and 2) it makes separate thumbnails on the feed, so personally, I turned it back off.
Is that cat crying?
It is indeed, the elusive vengeful crying cat. https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/890/820/4c1
Try not putting anything in the square brackets of the link? You would think that makes alt text, but from what I have seen it just makes it a text link. Also your example is broken, because the end ‘]’ is missing
Thanks for the heads up about the missing bracket. I think it is indeed supposed to be alt text. I edited the post and not putting anything into the square brackets just posts the image’s URL as a hyperlink.
Here is a lemmy post that has an image in the post text: https://midwest.social/post/814279 so it is possible. I don’t know what it looks like federated through kbin, but it shows up correctly if you copy and paste it in your browser to see it directly.
