There’s a big gap between “what I think it will look like” and “what I want it to look like”.

Think: Something similar to the gilded age, but with technology companies at the top rather than railroads. Society in an inverted bell curve (no middle class). Most people forced to rent what they need, whether it’s housing or other necessities. Technology centralized and deployed as surveillance.

Want: Strong social democracies to balance corporate interests and protect human and worker’s rights. Most people are “middle class”, and privately own the basics needed to live a decent life. Technology distributed and used as communication.
