      Man it’s so confusing that there’s no zero in american time. 11:59 pm is one minute before midnight right? then it goes to 12:00 am or pm?

        Yeah, the am/pm switchover happens between 11:59 and 12:00, not 12:59 and 1:00. So stupid. Going from 23:59 to 00:00 makes way more sense. I avoid 12h clocks whenever I possibly can, and pretty much use it only when interacting with North Americans who are significantly older than me.

        AM, an easier way to remember it for those who didn’t grow up with the AM/PM system is that Midday is 12PM.
