Do they know that there is a non-shadow war going down like right now?

That article has a “poor Russia” feel to it. Makes me question what they mean by shadow war.

Even those who see such lethal missions as defensible in wartime question the utility of certain strikes and decisions that led to the targeting of civilians including Dugina or her father, Alexander Dugin — who officials acknowledge was the intended mark — rather than Russians more directly linked to the war.

“We have too many enemies who are more important to neutralize,” said a high-ranking Ukraine security official. “People who launch missiles. People who committed atrocities in Bucha.” Killing the daughter of a pro-war firebrand is “very cynical,” the official said.

Tbh, I don’t understand the problem with trying to kill Dugin or even successfully killing his daughter. He was one of the main ideologists of the Putin regime I’d hardly call that a civilian. For example, I have no doubt or qualms that we would’ve killed Alfred Rosenberg (Nazi Ideologist).

With Dugin’s daughter, it’s a little more sketch. However, she was a Russian propagandist, and I have no doubt that historically we would’ve been fine with, say, the Czechs or Poles sneaking over the border and shooting a Nazi propagandist during the occupation.
